Akoni
A brand born to frame visionaries.
By uniting Swiss precision with Japanese artistry, the brand redefines luxury eyewear and celebrates the art and beauty that inspire us all
About
In 2020, AKONI was founded in Switzerland by a diverse team united by a single ambition: to redefine luxury eyewear.
The name “Akoni” derives from Latin and translates to “priceless” and “worthy of admiration”—a promise reflected in the brand’s pursuit of excellence.
Anchored in Swiss precision and Japanese craftsmanship, Akoni rests on two unshakeable pillars: intelligent design and honest luxury.
Describing itself as “Framing Visionaries,” Akoni draws inspiration from legendary explorers, architects and designers, celebrating the art, beauty and innovation that surround us.
The brand collaborates closely with Japan’s master craftsmen, whose precision and dedication ensure that every frame is a small masterpiece. Worthy of admiration.
Production
Handmade in Japan by master artisans, Akoni frames blend traditional crafts—such as Japanese joinery, Kiriko glass cutting and Shodo calligraphy—with modern innovation, creating a tribute to Japan’s rich heritage. Subtle details invite discovery: sculpturel details on the temple and fronts evoke the elegance of high-end watches, while titanium-tipped acetate temples recall the craftsmanship of fine writing instruments. Guided by the Shokunin philosophy, Akoni perfects every handcrafted element and removes bold logos in favour of clean silhouettes and a discreet circle‑in‑square emblem that honours its Swiss and Japanese roots. Even the packaging reflects this care, pairing a real leather pouch with a unique aluminium case and custom cleaning cloth to complete the luxury experience.
