More volume, more details, and more individuality - 2023 trends

The Alivestyle team was at the OPTI fair in Munich and MIDO in Italy. Six days of eyewear. Here's our take on the latest trends in eyewear fashion from the brands we represent.

A significant trend in 2023 can be summed up with the word VOLUME.

Whether in metal or acetate, more chunky, more "powerful" eyewear is on the way.  Speaking of volume, this also applies to the size of the lenses. Several brands predict that we will return to larger eye sizes again.

No season is complete without a round pair of glasses, but we see more flat tops this season. Think Panto, but with more edge to the shape and design.

Res Rei has taken the angular trend a step further, giving this angular shape more size and a sharper look, as seen on Maria.

About details - several of our brands agree that there will be more of it.

We see this in finer edging technics on acetate fronts and temple wire cores with beautiful patterns visible through the acetate. A subtle "bling".

MUNIC, MYKITA, Res Rei, and GÖTTI have all embraced this trend within their unique brand DNA, so stay tuned.

When it comes to details, it is worth mentioning that our Japanese brand Matsuda continues to master this craft. Check out the article from the Financial Times on why the Japanese make the best Eyewear in the world. You will find it on our Blog or click here.

In London, Tom Davies revealed that he has scaled his bespoke production and is now back to acetate production capacity as before COVID. England is an upcoming eyewear manufacturing country. TD is ready to offer precisely the glasses your customer wants. Whether thick or thin, acetate or metal and in all colors, thinkable.

With Italian sports brand Out Of, fashion trend is one of many focuses.

They have listened to the feedback and added longer adjustable temple tips. This feature is now optional for three styles during spring 2023. Also, they added a new lens color on the award-winning BOT in purple as seen on the right. On the models RAMS a new gold mirror plating will soon be added.

We look forward to seeing you all during 2023, showing all the latest news in combination with our bestsellers and must-haves from each brand. Great stuff is on its way.

All the best from all of us.
